K1 Quality and Materials
Premium 4340 chromoly steel is used to manufacture all K1 forged connecting rods and crankshafts. ARP 2000 rod bolts are included standard with all K1 connecting rods with 625+ Custom Age rod bolts available as an optional upgrade. Bearing bore tolerances are held to +/-.0001". Bronze bushings allow for a full-floating pin. All connecting rods are 100% designed, finished, and inspected in the USA in their Mentor, OH facility.
Before any finish work is done, K1 connecting rods are 100% mag particle inspected. ARP bolts are installed and tightened to our exacting specifications prior to honing to insure accurate and repeatable bore geometry. All K1 Technologies connecting rods are honed in-house and sizes are held to some of the tightest accepted tolerances in the industry. Rods are weight-matched into sets and boxed, with the rotating, reciprocating and total weights noted for convenient use in the balancing process.
