PMO Induction’s carburetors meet the needs of todayโs street and performance engines.

- First, pick your choice of 8 uniquely designed PMO carburetor sets, ranging from 40-50 mm to fit 2.0 to 3.6 L engines. Each of these custom PMO carburetor sets provide improved drivability and performance versus the original Porsche Zentih or Weber carburetors.
- Secondly, match up your PMO Induction carburetor set to one of 16 custom manifold sets. Remember for correct manifold selection, first determine the base engineโs year and displacement. The original fuel system on the engine type dictates the manifold port shape, and then it is a matter of matching the port size and carb size desired.
- Lastly, pick your option of air cleaner sets- standard, short (for vehicles with air conditioning), or custom ITG racing set-up.
PMO Induction also has Carburetor Rebuild Kits for our 40mm,46mm and 50mm carb sets. These sets include: gaskets, o-rings, needle valves, float shims, washers and an accelerator pump cam to keep your PMOโs running at top performance. Should you want to custom tune your PMO Induction Carb Set, PMO offers Tune-Up Kits with optional main & idle jets, emulsion tubes and air correctors. PMO Carburetor Features and Benefits
- Completely enlarged throttle bodysize significantly improves airflow capacity vs original which only offered an enlarged 46mm throttle plate, no OE 50mm version was offered.
- Re-designed fuel inlet system allows for higher and more balanced flow rate with leak free delivery vs OE banjo bolt set-up.
- Aerospace quality materials and casting technology utilized throughout. Venturis, velocity stacks and throttle plates are precision machined to extremely tight tolerances for maximum flow and more exact tuning.
- One-piece stainless steel throttle shafts machined and micro-polished to .002โ tolerance for a lifetime of smooth throttle action. EDM cut slots deliver precise butterfly fitment and alignment for improved throttle response. Oversize ball bearings support throttle shafts to eliminate binding and air leaks that diminished performance of the OE Carburetors.

PMO Induction vs Weber Carburetors
PMO Induction utilizes aerospace quality castings, machining tolerances, and IDF jetting and float technology. This change was predicated on the IDF series, Weberโs most modern carb design, and intended to cope with high performance tires and suspensions that cause fuel slosh and starvation issues with older carb designs, like the original IDA configuration. Replacement and tuning component parts availability and costs are significantly better in general for IDF components over the IDA series parts.
Original 46mm Weber carburetors simply have the throttle plate enlarged, where as PMOโs have the entire throttle body enlarged from the top throat through the plate. Meaning the air flow capabilities of PMO Inductionโs carburetors are significantly improved over the equivalent size Weber. In addition, Weber never made a 50mm carb for large displacement or racing applications โ PMO Induction does!
PMO Induction utilizes a one-piece, machined stainless steel throttle shaft, supported by large ball bearings for a lifetime of smooth throttle action. This is the single biggest issue with Weber carburetors. The Weber carbs suffered greatly with throttle shaft wear, air leaks, and binding over the years with increasingly degrading throttle plate action and performance. Weber throttles also suffer from heat soak that exacerbate the wear issues, this does not affect PMO Induction carburetors.
PMO Induction carburetors have a sight glass float bowl to allow for very accurate setting of fuel levels, much more simply and efficiently, over the Weber IDA method that requires partial carb disassembly.
PMO Induction carburetors feature a greatly improved fuel inlet system configuration. This provides significantly improved flow capacity and fuel delivery balance vs. the banjo set-up on the Weber carbs, which are highly prone to leakage and are capacity limited on high flow applications.
Several internal PMO Induction carburetor components are manufactured to extremely tight tolerances such as chokes, throttle plates, and velocity stacks that not only deliver improved performance but ensure very even fuel and air metering between each stack making tuning much easier.
The PMO Induction manifold runners are CNC machined vs cast manifold runners; thus, are highly consistent and accurate with all the above-mentioned performance and tuning benefits.
Simply stated all the known historical Weber issues were recognized and addressed when the PMO Induction carburetors were designed and manufactured.
