Protect your engine on the track with the Stage II 2 QT Deep Sump Oil Pan Kit, designed for MY97-08 M96/M97 Porsche Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models. By increasing oil capacity by 2 quarts and utilizing an advanced X51-based baffle system with BMW-style oil control flappers, this kit prevents oil starvation and lowers operating temperatures under sustained, high G-force cornering.

Description

Our newest Stage II 2 QT Deep Sump Oil Pan Kit inc. pickup tube extension for MY97-08 M96/M97 engines in Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models has been in development and testing for several years. Based on our original 2 quart deep sump, this kit increases oil capacity by 2 quarts, but features an advanced oil baffle and anti-slosh tray. BMW-style oil control flappers are used throughout, allowing for improved oil control. These flappers allow for oil to drain back below the anti-slosh tray while positively sealing to prevent oil from leaving the lower sump area under sustained high G-forces. Based on the original X51 baffle, we’ve also added diverters and flappers below the anti-slosh tray in the lower sump to further control oil movement in the vehicle’s integrated dry sump.

Kit includes an oil pickup tube extension and Genuine Porsche 997 oil return tubes to ensure oil is returned from the heads as quickly as possible. Kit includes all required hardware and sealants.

The Stage II 2 quart deep sump helps reduce the likelihood of oil starvation related engine failures under sustained high g-forces with its improved baffling and oil control diverters and flappers, when used in conjunction with Driven XP9 race oil to control oil foaming issues. If your oil temperatures are over 240F or ambient air temps are over 80F, we recommend running Driven XP6 instead on track. Street oils should never be used on track. The 2 quart deep sump also reduces high oil temperatures experienced on track by adding two quarts of oil capacity. The 2 quart deep sump can be paired with an Accusump or Tandem Scavenge Pumps for an extra margin of safety.

The 2 quart deep sump is recommended when upgrading factory N-Spec Porsche tires with more aggressive compounds, especially those with treadwear ratings of 200 or lower.

Please note: if running one of our spin on oil filter adapters or an IMS Solution, a high flow racing oil filter like our 106-24 high flow oil filters is recommended. For added protection when used on the street, the Bilt Racing stainless sump guard can be installed.

Don’t take your Porsche Boxster, Cayman, or 911 to the track without one.

Does not fit Porsche 911 GT3, Turbo, or GT2 models.
