A Flat 6 Innovations Exclusive – Stainless Steel X-Pipes for Porsche 996/997 models from 1999-2008. Designed by Jake Raby and 100% made in the USA using only the highest grade of stainless steel and US-made performance 409SS catalytic converters. We don’t polish or sand blast these x-pipes to hide defects or poor quality welds. Bolt on 10 HP and 14 lb/ft of Torque. A must for all 996 and 997 engines, especially those that have been built up to 3.8 or 4.0 liters.

Supplied 175HB CPSI (Herring Bone Patterned Metallic Substrate).cats are Federal/EPA Compliant and are actually street-legal, unlike popular cats used by other companies that only meet Euro 3 standards which are not Federal/EPA Compliant. Please note that the supplied cats do not carry California Air Resources Board approval, so they are not for sale and use on the street in the state of California or any state that follows California emissions. The most current list of CARB states can be found here. Check your local, state, and federals laws before purchasing and installing this product.

Cats are flanged using precision Vibrant flanges and v-band clamps to allow for the use of race pipes at the track. Race pipes are not included. Please note that race pipes are for racing competition use only where permitted and are not legal for use in highway or street vehicles or other non-racing competition off-road vehicles. Please note the lower pipes at the muffler junction have been made purposefully longer to accommodate all stock and aftermarket mufflers; expect that you may need to shorten the tubes to match your application and muffler which can be easily accomplished with a hand saw.

Does not fit Turbo, GT2, or GT3 models.

Installation Instructions for Flat 6 Innovations Porsche 996/997 Stainless
Steel X-Pipes w/ Flanged Cats

1) Remove air box 

2) Unplug O2 sensors and free them from routing clips 

3) Loosen collars connecting mufflers to cats, slide them
over onto the muffler pipe 

4) Loosen clamps holding cats to hangers 

5) Remove bolts holding cat to header 

6) Remove cats 

7) Move O2 sensors to new cats, strip the last one, go buy
4 new sensors if you need them, install new sensors 

8.) Attach pipe stub to header, leave bolts loose enough
that the pipe can slide along the plane of the flange 

9) Attach X-pipe section(no cats) to hangers, do not
tighten hanger clamps 

10) Insert cats and clamp with V-bands, the flanges need to
mate correctly for the clamps to fit, make sure the writing on the cat is in the
direction of exhaust flow 

11) Check fit of pipes to headers, these may have changed
when putting the V-band clamps on. Tighten pipes to headers 

12) Finish tightening V-band clamps, apply lock screw 

13) Tighten hanger clamps 

14) Route O2 sensor wiring and reconnect- ensure the pre
and pay sensor wiring orientation is maintained from the prior arrangement. This
is critical for O2 sensing 

15) Re-install airbox 

16) disconnect battery terminals from both battery
terminals. Once completely disconnected touch both cables (the leads that
connect the battery to the car- do not cross the battery terminals!) together
and a small spark will occur. This discharges the ECU and forces the adaptive
learning to reset, so the car can learn  the X pipe faster.

17) reconnect both battery leads, ensuring the negative and
positive both connect to their respective poles if the battery. Connecting the
battery backward will result in damage to the entire electrical system
immediately!

18) start the car- it will likely run rough for a few
minutes while it learns the difference in the exhaust. It may throw a check
engine light during the first couple hundred miles..
