Makes oil changes easy again and save some $$$ at the same time by bundling our spin-on oil filter adapters with a magnetic drain plug, oil filters, or other upgrades for your 1997-2008 Porsche Boxster, Cayman, or 911 engine.

We recommend oil changes every 6 months or 5000 miles, whichever comes first, using Driven DT40 engine oil.

Please note that magnetic drain plug shown in photo is optional and must be added to the bundle if desired.

Due to filter availability, we may substitute Mann ML1013, Mahle OC999, or Baldwin B31 oil filters for the Napa Gold 1042 / Wix 51042 filter and we may substitute Napa Gold 1215, Wix 51215, Mann W7015, Mahle OC1063, Hengst H319W, or Baldwin BT223 oil filters for the Napa Gold 1348 / Wix 51348 filter. The only Napa Gold filter we recommend is the one made by Mann-Hummel (Wix) made in Mexico or the USA; purchasing your replacement oil filter from LN Engineering will ensure you receive the correct filter for your engine. We may substitute a suitable replacement filter other than a Napa Gold when needed. We do not recommend using the Napa Select or Platinum oil filters.

LN Engineering's exclusive full-flow spin-on oil filter adapter allows for use of a conventional spin-on oil filter, rather than expensive and messy cartridge-style filters.


The LN Engineering Spin-On Oil filter adapter also helps improve the longevity of your engine by providing full flow filtration by deleting the bypass, which means 100% of the oil gets filtered and whatever goes to the filter stays in the filter. This limits collateral damage from foreign object debris that would otherwise re-contaminate the engine when using the factory filter arrangement.


Since a steel-bodied spin-on conventional oil filter is now employed, you can further reduce engine wear by using a Filtermag, which reduces iron contaminants in your motor oil and thus reduces wear associated with these particles normally unfiltered by the oil filter. For 987.2 MY09+ Boxster and Cayman models, use part number 106-01.3.


When installing, be sure to lubricate both o-rings with clean engine oil. Screw the oil filter adapter onto the engine by hand. Once the spin on filter adapter is fully engaged to the block, use a 26mm socket and torque to 25 Nm (18 Ft/Lbs). Also be sure to oil the filter gasket before installing! Do not prefill the oil filter. Filter should be installed by hand then once snug, turned another 3/4 to 1 turn to finish filter installation, or to the filter manufacturers recommended specifications. We use the Napa Gold 1042 or Wix 51042 along with Joe Gibbs DT40 or the LN Engineering Billet Spin-On Oil Filter and Joe Gibbs XP9 for the track. For street use in warmer climates, a 5w40 full-synthetic oil is recommended and for winter use with frequent cold starts, we recommend a 0w40 full-synthetic oil. Porsche approved oils of 0w40 and 5w40 are acceptable - use of thicker oils not recommended. Oil change interval should not exceed 6 months or 5,000 miles in street use. For track use, our Billet High Performance Oil Filter is recommended and required when running an Accusump and is included in HPDE Accusump Kit, part number 106-12.1.


LN Engineering’s billet magnetic drain plug is CNC machined and has a large 3/8” rare-earth magnet to reduce iron (Fe) levels in oil, which is a primary source for wear in your engine, with up to 14 lbs. of pull! Fits MY09 and later 9A1 DFI engines used in Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models, as well as MY97-08 M96 and M97 engines. Also fits Cayenne S/Turbo MY03-06 models. The addition of a magnetic drain plug allows for quick and easy inspection of overall engine health and for identification of engine problems from foreign object debris collected by our magnet. Our drain plug uses M18x1.5mm thread pitch and replaces the original drain plug, Porsche part no 900 219 009 30, and uses O.E. sealing ring Porsche part number 900 123 106 30 which should be replaced every time you install the drain plug and torqued to 19 ft/lb.
