Original sump plates are NLA and currently available aftermarket sump plates do not have a drain plug provision, so you have to drop the oil sump plate every time you change your oil. By upgrading to a Billet Aluminum Oil Sump Plate Kit, you can make oil changes on your Porsche 911 faster and easier. Billet construction also provides a more rigid design that is less prone to leak than stamped steel replacement sump plates.

Before ordering, it is important to verify which kit you need: engines with a removable oil sump screen (2.0, 2.2, 2.4, 2.7, 3.0, 3.2, and 3.3) use the 930 style and later (or upgraded engines) with an oil pump mounted oil screen use the 993 style. Please verify which one you need before ordering as there are no returns or exchanges on this product. Kit includes the billet sump plate, M22 x 1.5 drain plug (non-magnetic) with crush washer, M6 x 35 sump plate studs, and M6 Nylock nuts and washers.

Details

To Install the billet sump plate on your Porsche 911 engine, first drain the engine oil. Remove nuts, washers, old sump plate, screen gaskets, and studs (vice grips may be required). Clean the screen and the threaded holes in the engine case then fit the supplied studs with blue Loctite with 0.67" exposed threads at proper install depth. Fit new gasket, screen, gasket, new sump plate, washers, and Nylock nuts. Please note that second gasket and screen is not used with the 993 style sump plate for engines with oi pump mounted oil screen. Fit crush washer to drain plug and install to sump plate. Refill engine oil. We use and recommend Driven DT50 for all aircooled Porsche 911 engines.
