Driven GP-1 Synthetic Blend High Performance Motor Oils

Driven GP-1 synthetic-blend / semi-synthetic high-performance motor oils are created using Pennsylvania petroleum, combined with a high zinc (ZDDP) content that has undergone engineering and testing to provide increased horsepower and improved engine wear protection under high loads. Driven GP-1 synthetic-blend / semi-synthetic high-performance motor oils are ideal for use in competition cars, custom vehicles, hot rods, classic cars, imports, and racing applications.

Driven GP-1 has been specifically engineered and tested to offer increased horsepower and more than a 30% reduction in engine wear and over 15 Deg F reduction in temperatures compared to competing conventional or semi-synthetic performance motor oils. Driven GP-1 provides race-grade protection and performance at a significantly lower cost than full synthetic oils. Its unique characteristics, stemming from Pennsylvania grade base oil combined with selected synthetic components (including mPao), result in a higher Pressure-Viscosity Coefficient, ensuring excellent stability under High Temperature-High Shear (HTHS) conditions for increased film thickness. Additionally, the inclusion of Driven's ZDDP additive package in GP-1 creates a synergistic chemical balance, enhancing wear protection. Driven GP-1 synthetic blend high-performance motor oils also include high levels of MoDTC moly (MoS2) additives for added wear and friction reduction (with exception of the GP-1 Break-In 30WT motor oil). Driven GP-1 Synthetic Blend / Semi Synthetic High Performance Motor Oil Test Results GP-1 is perfect for performance street vehicles, classic cars, imports, and competition/race engines. It is also compatible with methanol, E85, and high-octane race fuels. By blending with authentic Pennsylvania Grade base oil, GP-1 achieves a higher pressure-viscosity coefficient, resulting in excellent HTHS film thickness. This oil ensures maximum engine protection by utilizing Driven's High Zinc (ZDDP) additive technology and is designed for all high-performance builds, particularly for street-track performance vehicles with flat tappet, roller, or overhead cam engines.

About the Development of Driven GP-1 Synthetic Blend High Performance Motor Oils


The American Refining Group (ARG), which used to produce Brad Penn before selling the Penn Grade brand to DA Lubricants some years ago, approached Driven for assistance in developing lubricant products tailored to the performance market using ARG's unique base stock. Driven has a strong commitment to ongoing research and development, and they have been working on their own additive formulations, resulting in superior oils compared to those available in the past. This extensive experience with lubricant development and testing laid the foundation for the creation of Driven's new GP-1 oil. Driven GP-1 synthetic blend high performance motor oils utilize ARG's light and high-quality paraffinic crude oil, which possesses exceptional properties perfectly suited for motorsports and high-performance engines.

Pennsylvania grade crude oil generates oil films that are 15 percent thicker due to the unique pressure-viscosity coefficient inherent in this base stock. When combined with carefully selected group III and group IV synthetic base stocks, including Driven's mPAO, the outcome is an oil that is more cost-effective than full synthetics and offers over 30 percent superior wear protection compared to similar non-synthetic and semi-synthetic blends. Unlike ARG's previous non-friction modified Brad Penn oils, GP-1 incorporates Driven's proven additive packages, including the friction modifier molybdenum, which contributes to cooler engine operation, increased power output, and reduced wear.

Driven GP-1 Synthetic Blend High Performance Motor Oil stands out through meticulous design and has undergone extensive testing, with results independently verified by a third party, confirming its superior performance compared to the old Brad Penn oils originally manufactured by ARG.
