Rothsport Road and Race Oil Inlet Check Valves

Jeff Gamroth over at Rothsport Road and Race has come up with an ingenious solution to smoking on start-up that is so very common to all aircooled 911 engines. This is even more of a problem with cars that are not driven very often. This occurs when oil drains back from the tank into the crankcase. By adding Rothsport Racing's oil inlet check valve to your aircooled Porsche 911's oil system this restricts the flow of oil back into the engine while not restricting oil flow during normal operation. As you can see, each oil inlet check valve is marked clearly as which side goes to the engine and oil tank. Please take care to make sure that you do install the oil inlet check valve correctly as you can block oil flow to your engine if the valve is installed incorrectly! It is also recommended that you install a new Genuine Porsche or OEM s-hose. Please note you will have to cut the s-hose as the oil inlet check valve gets installed in this hose that goes between the engine and oil tank.
