This deep sump kit is compatible with 1997-2008 Porsche Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models with the M96 or M97 engine. Helps improve lubricant life, reduce the likelihood of oil starvation related engine failures, and reduces oil temperatures when running factory N-spec tires with tread wear ratings above 200. Allows you to run the oil level 1/2 a quart lower while retaining original fill quantity to reduce crankcase windage, oil consumption, and reduce load on the AOS (air oil separator). Perfect for daily driven cars that are autocrossed or might see an occasional novice DE event or track day.

    2 QT Deep Sump Oil Pan Kit inc. pickup tube extension for MY97-08 M96/M97 engines in Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models Based on the factory Porsche X51 oil sump plate and baffle, our kit increases oil capacity by 2 quarts and includes an improved oil baffle and anti-slosh tray. Kit includes an oil pickup tube extension and Genuine Porsche 997 oil return tubes to ensure oil is returned from the heads as quickly as possible. Kit includes all required hardware and sealants. The 2 quart deep sump helps reduce the likelihood of oil starvation related engine failures under sustained high g-forces with its improved baffling and oil control, when used in conjunction with Driven XP9 race oil to control oil foaming issues. If your oil temperatures are over 240F or ambient air temps are over 80F, we recommend running Driven XP6 instead on track. Street oils should never be used on track. The 2 quart deep sump also reduces high oil temperatures experienced on track by adding two quarts of oil capacity. The 2 quart deep sump can be paired with an Accusump or Tandem Scavenge Pumps for an extra margin of safety. The 2 quart deep sump is recommended when upgrading factory N-Spec Porsche tires with more aggressive compounds, especially those with treadwear ratings of 200 or lower. Please note: if running one of our spin on oil filter adapters or an IMS Solution, a high flow racing oil filter like our 106-24 high flow oil filters is recommended. For added protection when used on the street, the Bilt Racing stainless sump guard can be installed. Don't take your Porsche Boxster, Cayman, or 911 to the track without one.

    LN Engineering's exclusive full-flow spin-on oil filter adapter allows for use of a conventional spin-on oil filter, rather than expensive and messy cartridge-style filters, and improves oil filtration by eliminating the problematic factory filter bypass that can allow contaminants back into your engine, like what was in this filter:

    The LN Engineering Spin On Oil Filter Adapter is a must on all engines, especially those not yet retrofitted with an IMS Retrofit or IMS Solution, as foreign object debris from IMS bearing wear or failure can cause collateral damage in the engine as the factory filter cartridge bypass gets weak over time and allows the stock filter to run in bypass. This allows debris to exit the filter and contaminate the engine.

    The spin-on oil filter adapter utilizes a Napa Gold 1042 / Wix 51042 oil filter, originally specified for 97-04 Chevrolet Corvette, rated for 9-11 GPM with 21 micron rating (versus 28 micron rating specified by Napa/Wix for their replacement for the factory oil filter insert) and full-flow filtration (no bypass valve). Note: If you fit your engine with an IMS Solution, our spin on oil filter adapter is included which provides easy oil changes while providing filtered oil for the IMS Solution.

    Due to filter availability, the Mann ML1013, Mahle OC999, or Baldwin B31 oil filters can be used in place of the Napa Gold 1042 / Wix 51042 filter. The only Napa Gold filter we recommend is the one made by Mann-Hummel (Wix) made in Mexico or the USA; purchasing your replacement oil filter from LN Engineering will ensure you receive the correct filter for your engine. We may substitute a suitable replacement filter other than a Napa Gold when needed. We do not recommend using the Napa Select or Platinum oil filters.

    Does not fit GT3, Turbo, and GT2 Porsche 911 models. For 987.2 MY09+ Boxster and Cayman models, use part number 106-01.3. For 718 4-cyl Boxster and Cayman models, use part number 106-01.5.
