    $6,160.95

WHEN REBUILDING AN M96 OR M97 ENGINE, THERE ARE MANY CONSIDERATIONS WHEN EVALUATING YOUR OPTIONS.

Re-ringing your M96 or M97 engine isn't even an option for most rebuilds, however most engine builders re-ring engines after only doing a visual inspection of cylinder bores rather than measuring the cylinders for ovality and taper. It is a guarantee if the engine has not been sleeved, the bores are out of spec on even a "fresh" rebuild.

Through our exclusive Nickies sleeving process, we have overcome the d-chunk, slipped-sleeve, scoring, as well as taper and ovality issues associated with Porsche 986/996 and later 987/997 models.

The price shown is for all six cylinders on the block process. Includes custom Mahle Motorsport pistons, rings, pins and clips sold exclusively by LN Engineering. Service applies to M96.03 and M96.05 engines.

NOTE: This item does not qualify for free shipping. Oversized items or items shipped by freight are subject to additional shipping charges in addition to what you will be charged at checkout. You will be contacted with additional shipping charges prior to shipping. Learn More

    SKU: 121-06

  19. ARP 204-4210 Porsche 911 996 997 Mezger 3.6L GT2/GT3/Turbo Head Stud Kit

    SKU: 204-4210

    $862.99
ARP 204-4210 Porsche 911 996 997 Mezger 3.6L GT2/GT3/Turbo Head Stud Kit ARP Pro Series cylinder head studs are cold-forged to ensure molecular integrity. They're heat-treated prior to thread rolling and machining. ARP Pro Series kits are also available with 12-point nuts, and all studs come complete with hardened parallel washers for an even load distribution and accurate torque readings. Special order item - please call for availability and lead time before placing your order.

Installation Method for Porsche Head Stud Kit

    Part Number: 204-4210
Application: Porsche 3.6L Turbo Water-Cooled Engine

    1. Always verify the part number for your application with the part number on the side of the box and the part number on the instruction sheet.
    2. Clean and inspect all hardware prior to installation. Look for obvious defects or shipping damages plus proper fit, length, and dimension.
    3. To ensure proper thread engagement and accurate torque readings, clean ALL threads in the block. Chase if necessary with ARP Thread Chaser part number 912-0003 (M10 X 1.5).
    4. Screw the head studs into the left-hand and right-hand engine cases "HAND TIGHT ONLY". NOTE: LOCTITE MAY BE USED IF A PERMANENT MOUNTING OF THE STUDS IS PREFERRED.
    5. Install the cylinders and the cylinder heads as described in the Porsche factory service manual. Check for binding or misalignment.
    6. Lubricate the stud threads, nuts, and washers with ARP ULTRA-TORQUE FASTENER ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT. Then install the washers and the nuts onto the studs and tighten them hand tight. ARP recommends using the ARP ULTRA-TORQUE FASTENER ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT that is provided with each kit as opposed to motor oil. This is due to higher friction on the studs as well as inconsistencies in the clamping force of the fasteners when motor oil or other low-quality lubricants are used.
    7. Following the manufacturer's recommended torque sequence, tighten the nuts in two equal steps to 38 ft-lbs with ARP ULTRA-TORQUE FASTENER ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT. Note: ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant has been specifically designed to reduce tension preload scatter and eliminate the need to cycle high-performance engine fasteners before final installation. ARP Ultra-Torque far surpasses all requirements offered by previous ARP lubricants in terms of fastener preload repeatability and performance lubricating properties.

  21. ARP 204-5001 M96/M97 Carrier Through Bolt Kit Porsche Boxster, Cayman, 911

    SKU: 204-5001

    $122.99
Porsche 986/987/996/997 Crankshaft Carrier Through Bolt Kit. The factory carrier bolts are torque to yield (TTY) and must be replaced. This ARP crankshaft carrier thru-bolt kit features bolts that are stronger (and reusable) to help prevent shuffling and fretting of the main bearing saddles common to engines that see high performance driving or have been increased in displacement. Optional for street and required for the track. We also recommend using coated main and rod bearings on all Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models with the M96/M97 engine for reduced wear and longer bearing life, not to mention an additional layer of protection against oil starvation and aeration related damage.

Installation Method for Porsche Main Bolt Kit

    Part Number: 204-5001
Application: Porsche 3.4L-3.6L (Non Turbo) Water-Cooled Engines

    1. To ensure proper thread engagement and accurate torque readings, clean ALL threads in the block. Chase the threads if necessary.
    2. Clean and inspect all hardware prior to installation. Look for obvious defects or shipping damages plus proper fit, length, and dimension.
    3. Make sure there is an adequate chamfer around the bolt holes on the main bearing cap housing to clear the radius on the under head of the bolt.
    4. Install the bearings and the crankshaft into the main bearing housing and assemble the housing halves according to the Porsche factory service manual. Check for binding or misalignment.
    5. Lubricate the under head of the bolt and the bolt threads with ARP ULTRA-TORQUE FASTENER ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT. Then install the bolts into the main bearing housing and tighten them hand tight. ARP recommends using the ARP ULTRA-TORQUE FASTENER LUBRICANT that is provided with each kit as opposed to motor oil. This is due to higher friction on the bolts as well as inconsistencies in the clamping force of the fasteners when motor oil (or low quality lubricant) is used.
    6. Following the manufacturer's recommended torque sequence, tighten the bolts in three equal steps to 50 ft-lbs with ARP ULTRA-TORQUE FASTENER ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT.
    7. When changing from factory fasteners to high-strength fasteners, clamping force and tolerances will change; therefore, it will be necessary to check the main bearing bores for proper size and out-of-round condition after installation of the bolts and align hone the cylinder block if necessary. The main bores should always be align honed using the same fasteners and lubricant which will be installed during final engine assembly at the recommended preload.

    $172.99
ARP 204-6301 M96/M97 Porsche 986/987/996/997 M9 Rod Bolt Kit. Fits Boxster, Cayman, and 911 models from 1997 through 2008 with the factory cracked cap connecting rods. The stock rod bolts are a torque to yield (TTY) bolt, meaning they must be replaced. ARP rod bolts are a must when rebuilding any 1997-2008 Porsche Boxster, Cayman, or 911 model with M96 or M97 engine and retaining the factory connecting rods to prevent costly rod bolt failures due to stretched rod bolts. Don't risk a failure by reusing weak factory rod bolts. Upgrade to ARPs and never worry about your Porsche connecting rod bolts ever again! If you plan on tracking your car or you are increasing your displacement, consider upgrading to Carrillo rods which come with upgraded rod bolts as well as coated rod bearings.

Installation Method for Porsche Rod Bolt Kit

    Part Number: 204-6301
    Application: Porsche 996 / 997 / 986 / 987 (M9) Cap Screw without Washer

    1. Please check the part-number(s) for your application against the part-number(s) listed on the instruction sheet.
    2. Make sure there is an adequate chamfer around the bolt hole on the connecting rod cap to clear the radius under the head of the bolt.
    3. Use ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant to lubricate the threads of the bolt and the under head of the bolt. Then install the bolts and tighten them hand tight.
    4. ARP recommends using the STRETCH METHOD when tightening rod bolts. Following the instructions for using a stretch gauge, stretch the bolts to .0095 - .0100.
    5. If you do not have a stretch gauge, torque the bolts to 45 ft-lbs using ARP Ultra-Torque Fastener Assembly Lubricant.
    6. The connecting rods should always be re-sized after new rod bolts are installed.
    7. A log should be kept on the original non-torqued length of each bolt. Bolts that have any permanent deformation or have increased in non-torqued length by more than .001 in. should be replaced.

  25. Rauch & Spiegel 996/997 Connection For Coolant Hose To Oil Separator

    SKU: 516.252

    $49.95
The Rauch & Spiegel coolant hose to engine oil separator connection is a much more durable all-aluminum connector for the oil separator coolant hoses on 1999 – 2008 996 & 997 Carrera models. The original plastic connector is fragile and it deteriorates rapidly from heat and vibration. Failure of the original plastic part is usually catastrophic and occurs without warning, leaving you stranded with your car’s coolant running out on the ground. Our anodized billet aluminum connector is vastly more robust than the original plastic part. It has been designed to last the life of the automobile and installation is really quite simple and straight forward. Why get stranded by a failed plastic coolant hose connector when for much less than the price of a tow truck ride you can eliminate the risk for good? New stainless steel mounting hardware is included. Replaces 99610622652, 996.106.226.52. Learn More
