Made of aluminum, it has the benefit of the same expansion properties as the case its attached to, which reduces the potential for leaks. Often referred to as the "Taco plate" due, this aftermarket billet aluminum unit is a one piece design and is thicker than the OE unit, so doesn't suffer the warping from attachment, and being made out of aluminum, it expands contracts at the same rate of the case, further eliminating potential for leaks.
