    Formulated Specifically For Modern Sports Car Engines

    DT40 utilizes advanced synthetic base oils to provide high temperature and high shear protection for high output performance and turbocharged engines, as well as European sports car engines with and without variable valve timing. DT40 reduces oil consumption by limiting oil vaporization and foaming. Ideal for modern German, Italian and British sports car engines, and is compatible with E85 and water/methanol injection. Viscosity typical of 5W-40. An excellent upgrade over any factory Porsche approved A40 oil.

    Increased Moly Content

    Typically, most European oils have 0 to 50ppm of moly. Driven DT40 has over 300 ppm of moly in the form of MoDTC. Research has shown that increases in ZDDP and moly content can help reduce wear (bore scoring) in engines with hypereutectic bores, like Alusil and Lokasil.

    Driven DT40 is recommended for engines requiring an A40 Porsche approved oil. Please note that Driven DT40 does not carry factory Porsche A40 approval but meets or exceeds the requirements for any engine requiring an A40 oil. For direct injected engines or those requiring a Porsche C40 spec oil, please use Driven DI40.

    Note: We recommend DT40 in place of Driven HR6 Synthetic Hot Rod 10w40 oil.

    Driven DT oils do not meet current ILSAC GF-6A, GF-6B, and API SP standards and is not recommended for vehicles with particulate filters or where emission system or LSPI protection is required; Driven DI oils are recommended for these applications.     SPEEDiagnostix UOA kits are all inclusive - standard or expedited outbound and inbound shipping is included as well as all used oil analysis laboratory processing and reporting. The SDX-10001 standard turnaround used oil analysis drain sample kit provides results in 5 to 6 business days.

    We know many of our customers are firm believers in used oil analysis. Those who have their oil tested regularly receive valuable trend data for the health of their engine that can be used to make intelligent decisions on what oil they use and how often they should change it. More importantly, used oil analysis is the only tool in your toolbox that can identify potential engine problems even before you have symptoms, preventing costly catastrophic engine failures.

    For those of you unfamiliar with SPEEDiagnostix, the Speed family with their vast experience in the racing industry started their own service to fill the need for expedited expert used oil analysis. SPEEDiagnostix is a family business run by Lake Speed Jr.’s daughter, Caroline Speed.

    The Speed name may ring a bell for some– Lake Speed Jr. has been involved in the racing industry for decades. His dad, Lake Speed, is a well known Nascar driver and the only American to win the World Karting Championship until 2015. Most recently, Lake Speed Jr. joined the team at Total Seal Piston Rings. Lake was previously with Driven Racing Oils where he developed all the oils we rely on for protecting our Porsche engines.

    There are many labs that offer testing for less than SPEEDiagnostix but you are getting a whole lot less. Not only does SPEEDiagnostix use the RDE method that can see particles up to 10 microns compared to the ICP process used by popular labs that can only see up to 5 microns, they also include separate FTIR and GC tests for oil oxidation, fuel, and coolant – all tests not included in other labs standard test price.

    Having your oil tested by SPEEDiagnostix through LN Engineering provides you access to experts who know Porsche engines – something other labs just don’t have. Where other labs might think the following used oil sample was normal for a Porsche engine, with our extensive experience, we know that is not the case.     Each SPEEDiagnostix used oil analysis kit includes spectrometal analysis as well as FTIR and GC tests at no extra cost:

    1. 1. FTIR Analysis: Used to determine the health of the oil. FTIR provides a modern, accurate way to determine the remaining life of the oil. FTIR replaces traditional TBN tests and provides much better insight into the health of the oil.
    2. 2. GC Analysis: A dedicated gas chromatography test provides improved accuracy of coolant and fuel contamination levels.
    3. 3. Spectrometal Analysis: Used to determine type and quantity (in ppm) of wear, contaminants and additive metals in the oil. The report will detail, in parts per million, the wear metals, contaminants and additives in the sample. SPEEDiagnostix utilizes the RDE method which provides improved resolution allowing the detection of particles up to 10 microns versus 5 microns with the ICP method used by other labs.
    4. 4. Viscosity: The most important property of any lubricant, the viscosity test measures the resistance to flow of the lubricant at 100 degrees centigrade. This test can indicate improper oil, oil oxidation, or contamination with another fluid.
